Welcome to the EAA Chapter 1031 Young Eagles Page

The EAA Young Eagles is a great program that provides youth ages 8-17 an opportunity to take their first flight in an airplane for free. The sole mission of this program is to inspire youth and introduce them into the exciting world of avation. Since its inception in 1992, over 2 million young people have taken to the skies with a pilot who is a volunteer of this program.

Signup Information

To sign up a child age 8-17 for the EAA Young Eagles program, that child's parent has to fill out a sign up form. These forms are available at the desk inside the terminal at Winchester Reginal Airport. Once the form is filled out, return it to the person at the desk and you will be contacted by the EAA Chapter 1031 Young Eagles Coordinator to plan. After the flight, your child will receive an officail EAA Young Eagles logbook with a code for a free FAA approved private pilot ground school course from Sporty's Pilot Shop that will allow your child to take the FAA written exam upon successful completion.
